Raised between the US and Peru, Desiree Tavera has spent years working in nonprofits, tech public policy advocacy, disaster relief and for over a decade she was also executive producer of events and art experiences focus on sustainability, such as Burning Man and Miami Art Basel. She worked for tech giants such as Hotels.com, HotelPlanner.com, Airbnb and went on to deploy her skill-sets in response to 2 relief tours in Haiti, 1 in Nepal, the Refugee crisis in Greece, & 1 in Peru. While producing the first humanitarian focused Maker Faire in Kathmandu.

Desiree founded Far Away Projects in 2015 and crafted a successful model of accelerating early stage activists and organisations from all over the world through the incubator model at Far Away. Since then she became a reference in Corporate Social Responsibility and has been working with some of the most relevant investors globally.

AMILCAR GUERREIRO

Amilcar's professional career developed in synergy with the growth of the renewable energy market in Brazil. Graduated in Production Engineering from the Polytechnic School of UFRJ, postgraduate in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ, MBA in Economic Engineering from UERJ and Electrical Sector Executive Development Program from USP, he is a senior executive with over 40 years of experience in the national energy industry.

He was Secretary of Energy at the Ministry of Mines and Energy in 2003 and 2004, began his executive career at Eletrobrás and Furnas, and worked for more than 20 years as C-Level in relevant organizations in the energy sector such as CEPEL, EPE and PROCEL.

A leader in constant tune with the international market, Amilcar currently works as a consultant with the largest companies in the sector, which seek to reinvent themselves, expand their markets and diversify their businesses, through corporate innovation and technological development with a focus on energy transition.

CONSULTANT & RENEWABLE ENERGY SPECIALIST

One of the greatest leaders in the Brazilian technology and innovation ecosystem with global impact, Fabio has a 24-year career focused on Innovation, Research and Technology, Business Development, Strategic Planning and Competitive Intelligence in the industrial sector, together with large companies such as EMBRAER and RANDON . He was responsible for creating the first Corporate Venture Capital in Brazil to position Embraer in emerging high-technology markets and led projects in biofuels, energy optimization, fuel cells and electrification in air and road modes, developing structured sustainability strategies for the company. Fabio also created and implemented the first private Science and Technology Institution (TIC) in Rio Grande do Sul, structured and operated Hélice – an innovation movement in Serra Gaúcha, in addition to actively collaborating with the Federal Government in the development of public policies focused on research, development and innovation. A Mechanical Engineer with Specialization in Aeronautics (USP), Master's in Production Engineering (USP), Postgraduate in Business Management (Fundação Dom Cabral), who developed technological partnerships with universities, research institutes, companies and startups in Brazil and abroad world.
